8 Tales Of Pedro

Inspired in the Puerto Rican and Mexican folktales, 8 Tales of Pedro tells the story of a group of people coping with uncertainty through stories as they are taken across the border against their wishes. A compelling and powerful play written by Mark Eugene Garcia, the play won the Fringe Festival's people's choice award at The Secret Theater, and after a full run at the theater, earned nominations at the New York Innovative Awards, where I won for Outstanding Music. A beautiful process of crafting a score to amplify the stories told and enacted by the characters, this play allowed me to connect with an acting ensemble in ways I had never done before. I wrote the music for solo guitar, and eventually we even had a second full run at the Queens Theater in 2023. The play has also since been published by Theatrical Rights Worldwide.
